I, too, have run into some issues with this company. My wife had eye surgery done at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She is now legally blind. We are on a fixed income and because we could only pay $25.00 a month for the hospital and $25.00 a month for the doctors they ended up handing over $307.00 to this collections agency. When they sent me the notice to pay there was no matching information I could find on the Mercy website for the charges they were supposedly collecting. I wrote them a letter with return receipt requested asking them for written clarification of the charges. That letter was sent November 12, 2014 and as of today January 17, 2015 they still have not responded. They only contacted us once and I told them that I wanted proof of the charges and then followed up with the letter. I understand why they have a level of trust at 73% and BBB advises to be careful when dealing with this company. They do like to use coercive language to get you to pay unquestioning. They threaten taking you to small claims court for a judgement. Having been in the legal business in my younger years I might welcome the opportunity to stand before a collections court judge. I have paper documented all the dealings I have had with both Mercy Hospital and this Collection Agency. This has left me with the feeling that I don't want anymore dealings with Mercy Hospitals.
