This merchant appears to be a third-party booking agent Travres Travel, registered in USA. The only available website address, www.travrestravel.com is not a working website.

Despite plentiful negative online reviews, company is partnered with well-known travel agencies, for example, such as Expedia.

When you book a hotel, please verify the name of the booking company, as it could be Travres and you are likely to experience problems. Double-check all your arrangements with them and costs of your bookings.

The only proven way of reach Travres Travel is to call them on 877-283-5585 number, choosing option 2. When automatic voice service asks for the itinerary number, press the # key. You might have to do this several times and then you will be transferred to an actual customer service representative, who will be able to explain your charge to you.

If you are absolutely certain you have not made any travel bookings, please contact your local bank and they will investigate your charge.

I received a charge of $220.09 on VISA from TRAVEL RESERVATION 877 283 5585 WA. I called the number and they said the charge was from expedia.com by a Cara Blackman for a reservation at a hotel in a neighbouring city. They gave me the hotel name. So I called the hotel and the thief was still checked in. I called the police and they couldn't do anything !!! My bank reversed the charge and are probably investigating.

I received a fraudulent charge in my credit card from TRAVRES*TRAVEL reserva 877 283 5585 WA for US$ 1436.20. I have never done any business with this company, nor with EXPEDIA or PAYONEER (something like PAYPALL) where the charge seems to be placed through. I have not planned to take a trip less to book a hotel or anything of the kind and there it is, a charge made to my credit card. I don't live in the USA. and my Bank in my country is taking charge of this. But what a scam.... It they were legit they would have requested information from my bank in my country, therefore, I doubt they are legit, they commit fraud and I don't understand how they continue to do so with so many scam related comments about them. What is the people of the US doing regarding this type of fraudulent business such as TRAVRES*TRAVEL, TRAVRES US FEES and some others such as PAYONEER or PIONEER who allow criminals to do fraudulent business throughout them.

I also thought I was making reservation directly through Holiday Inn but was billed by this company. When I questioned the charge on my credit card, they immediately called TravRes @ 8772835585 and we had a 3 way chat. I thought I used Expedia as when I checked into the Holiday Inn they told me I do not get reward points when I reserve thru Expedia. It was an honest charge to my credit card just very confusing to use a Holiday Inn website, be told by Holiday Inn I had used Expedia and be billed by a company with a Washington State address but is actually in South Africa!

I've never been charged for a hotel as soon as I made the reservation. I've stayed at this hotel many, many times in the past. This is the last time I will be conned into booking through a third party.

I finally found out what my charge was for. That was a very difficult phone call. There has GOT to be a better way to do this.

Similar experience. A charge for nearly $900 appeared on our CC. It apparently as for a hotel reservation we had made, we didn't realize we were booking thru a 3rd party. Calling the number ending with a "technical difficulties, hang up, call back" message. The fraud here is 1) historically hotels don't charge you in advance but rather at the time of check-out and 2) THEY NEVER MADE THE RESERVATION nor sent a confirmation e-mail. Buyer beware. I have so informed our CC co re this transaction.

I am somewhat connected with this company, in an albeit far off way. This is another company which is under expedia but they do not blatantly say that anywhere in your reservation, though most hotels may recieve a reservation that also says its expedia so some of you may contact the hotel and then get advised by the hotel to call expedia. Once you do call expedia you will not be assisted since it is through expedia but done through a sister company so all agents under expedia are unable to access your hotel record. This company operates under very many websites several of them being, bookit.com, reservationcounter.com, but all under the expedia affiliate network. Its only rarely a scam unless an agent decides to not disclose some cancellation rules on the reservation or knowingly use your credit card information, or perhaps spell your email wrongly for you not to recieve a copy. Anyway sometimes it might help to compare prices with these websites and expedia.com as 90% of the time they are usually the same.

If you are with these guys you are slimy as well. They can convince themselves that technically they are not fraudulent, but they pass themselves off as the primary company. In our case, we thought we were calling Disney. They represented themselves as disney. They said that disney didn't have rooms but put us in a roach motel claiming it was luxury and a disney affiliated resort. We called disney back only to find out that it wasn't disney we were speaking to initially. Anytime you have to mislead people to make money, you are a fraud. Period!

Expedia uses TRAVRES under cheaphotels.com. to handle a category of hotels that do not want their rates know. This is risky because Expedia states you may not change or cancel your reservation, even though the hotel would otherwise do this if you had booked directly with them.

I, too, called the toll free reservation line for Comfort Inn in Leeds, AL. First question I needed answered was do they accept pets? I was informed, Yes, they are pet friendly. They did tell me they were a third party booking company and I should have known better! A few minutes after hanging up, a very nice woman at the front desk of the Comfort Inn called to let me know they did NOT accept pets. She cancelled the reservation, but the charge appeared on my credit card anyway. After much hassel getting to a real person, I had the amount refunded. Next time I will call the hotel directly!

They never sent a confirmation email. The motel won't give you a travel receipt, because your credit card gets charged by TRAVRES. It would have been $30/night cheaper to deal directly with the hotel. This is a scam.

DO NOT ALLOW YOURSELVE TO MISTAKENLY BOOK WITH TRAVRES. I googled a Holiday Inn in Canada, and called the reservation number, unbeknownst to me I was booking with TRAVRES. Long story short, they didn't tell me I was dealing with a third part, nor did they tell me that although I live in Canada, am booking a hotel in Canada with a Canadian CC that they would be charging me in US FUNDS! No confirmation was e-mailed as promised, the customer service line was not hooked up to a human, so I could not get my confirmation and did not realize they had charged additional charges. I will not be paying that portion of my CC and have cancelled my CC to make a point. Also, they could not give me a breakdown of the high taxes, only that they were US TAXES!!!! Excuse me? I'll also be contacting the Candian Tax departments to see how a US company can sell in Canada without paying Canadian Taxes.

never sent an email to me, same problems as everyone else. I tried to call the number provided and of course could never get through to an actual person to help me. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE COMPANY! I wouldnt recommend them to any one. I orignally went through expedia and some how ended up booking a room through this company. Knowing that they are supposed to send you an email I did not write down the address of the hotel. Once I did not recieve a comformation we had to book another room and did not get refunded for this charge.

I found Travres to be more of a lame company than a fraudulent one. They never sent us an email confirmation. We had to have our bank call them to prove the transaction had been made. Travres then verified to the bank that reservations had been made. We had to jump through several hoops in order to discover that no scam had taken place. That said, the poor service was notable.

It's Fraud if the misrepresent themselves as the primary company you are trying to reach. We thought we were calling disney and they called themselves disney, "Central reservations"...

I was concerned about what this charge was as well. My first attempt to call them went nowhere and I was always cut off. Then I followed the post above that said press option 2 and hit # three times. I was connected to someone and found out it was for a future reservation I had four months down the road at the Ramada. So, it is a legitimate charge! Stupid system though. You'd think they would change it.

I booked a motel room with a motel in Sandpoint, Idaho via the phone for Dec 24, 2012. I cancelled this within the hour via a phone call to the motel and was assured it was taken care of. I have since called the motel and there was no record of any transaction. The credit card was charged. When calling the number given on the statement, there is no recourse because there is no one to talk with. This is fraud.

Showed up on credit card statement at "TRAVRES*TRAVEL 877-283-5585 WA" It is valid charge for hotel booking that was charged in advance for a non-refundable rate at a major hotel chain (Hilton in my case). I think they have deal with hotel chains to handle non-refundable rates.

In my case we finally figured out that it's the charge for hotel paid for over the phone. Normally we use Expedia or Hotels.com, etc. so we had to do a bit of research to find it. It was a valid charge.

If you purchase a hotel reservation through kayak.com this appears on your credit card statement. It won't appear as the hotel where you stayed.
