$4.500 was added to my AmEx credit card after I signed credit card slip (titled "voucher") following cab 10/12/12 from IAB to Houston. Very deceptive business practice as it was stated to be my card receipt, and I did not authorize and don't agree to such "extra fee". I do dispute it. Remove it or it'll be charged back on card! Very shady, unethical business trickery employed here.

Texas does not allow a direct charge to any customer who pays via credit card. Taxi fares do not have it built in, unlike other businesses. so, drivers take a loss of 5% or more and that's why the Taxipass voucher system started. I have driven a taxi in Houston for 30 years, do not use Taxipass, and tell every credit card customer that their convenience is at my cost. Would you like to have a 5% reduction to your income?

I just recently took a taxi to Houston Hobby and had the same thing happen - an extra charge of $4.50 on my credit card that I was not told about. I've reported and got a credit but may also report to the better business bureau. I agree with the other post - DO NOT TIP THEM!

Same thing ha[[ened to me two taxis in the last few weeks. One in Orlando and one in Phoenix. they gave me a "voucher receipt" called taxipass and did not explain it. 5.00 in fees between two fares.

i too took a taxi from the intercontinental airport to downtown and when i was doing my expense report noticed my receipt for 54.75 and my credit card statement for 59.45. the extra fee was never told to me
i will dispute this on my credit card to block the payment to them

The whole Taxi situation in Houston is a rip off. The Taxi drivers claim to get lost every single time. They drive you around looking for an address trying to rack up the meter charges. I always have enter the addresses on my iPhone Map to keep them honest. And if you pay with a Credit Card they stick you with a $4.50 Voucher Fee they don't tell you about. DON'T TIP THEM!
