I think it's a legitimate charge, just a dumb one. I got charged PAYPAL *DIGITALRIVE AV for 29.99, which is just Digital River, a service that does digital distribution for companies like Microsoft (formerly), and AVAST. AVAST is actually the company that this charge is for, from whom I bought my *antivirus* software, presumably where they got the AV.

I got a text saying *DIGITALRIVE AV was trying to take money off of my credit card through PAYPAL this morning (good thing i didnt have enough $ on it). But how can i prevent this from happening later down the line. Should i delete my PAYPAL account???

Got charged £29.99 on paypal for avast renewal 2nd March ,thought it was legit. Then on 2nd April got it charged again, went on line and cancelled any renewals then got charged 2 days later £39.99. I have now closed my paypal account as nothing else seemed to work . Couldn't find an address to ask for a refund. Has anyone had any luck.

I was charged about $34 CAD this months through my PayPal account. It is the legitimate charge for the SW I purchased from AVG. The reason why buying from some companies and making payments through PayPal you get in place of the customer name this online payment company from Ireland is the tax saving companies get if they open an account in Ireland comparing with tax they would otherwise pay if you pay them on their account open in their corresponding EU countries. Ultimately the savings is beneficial for the buyer as the price of the SW is less than one would pay if the company pays higher taxes.

I have been charged $69.99 on detailsPAYPAL *DIGITALRIVE AV 4029357733 AUS Dear paypal, I have contacted my bank they say that the transation on 03 Mar 2017 taken from my credit card has been sent to you. I did not authorize. I was not using any thing for paypay payments. I would appreciate the money returned as the bank says my paypal account might have been compromised. I have just finished looking up charges from my bank acct which through paypal paid digialriv av $54.99 only thing I could find was an old one similar last year to digital riv av was AVAST. I have just sent them a long email with the details of the transaction asking them to refund my money to my credit card and to put an all stop to auto renewing my acct protection services with them. I had bought the Premier protection a year ago and its the only thing I could find that matches. If you have any thing from Avast you must check the small print the have a auto renewal clause. You can always cancel the auto renewal if you know about it but most people dont read all the small print. I was one of them.

Same thing as some other Users.... I have obtained this charge but it was because I bought AVAST for 29.99 as well. So, although it comes with this name, it was for my AVAST purchase. Safe charge.

If you look at the information it will tell who has charged you through your paypal acct. DIGITAL RIVE AV is avast, the last letters after the DIGITAL RIVE are the abbreviated name of the company AV stands for AVAST. If you didn't read the small print it says it is on an auto renewal every 12 months so if you purchased a avast product a year ago its taken the funds out to continue the service. You can opt out of the auto renewal but they dont tell you this till you go looking. regards

free trial is good but has hidden small print that its an auto renewal service that starts at the end of your free trial....I trust this was about AVAST. If the DIGITAL RIVE an AV after it then its AVAST. They really need someone to rap them across the knuckles and then some....its not paypals fault they are only processing the amounts they think are legit

Dear paypal, I have contacted my bank they say that the transation on sunday taken from my credit card has been sent to you. I did not authorize. I was not using any thing for paypay payments.
