A lot of companies are at least trnyig to go green. But it is also important to realize that from a business standpoint, there also lies the fact that each company still has a main objective: earn enough money to stay in business. So companies need to maintain lower costs to run their business. A lot of the super going green stuff that companies would love to employ costs extra money. And spending to much extra money is the fast track to going out of business. And with the current economic downturn, this is a bigger issue than ever before. We should praise companies like home depot for doing what they can to go green, but also realize they are limited to what they can do by what they need to do to stay in business.
