Subscribed for one year only, needed it for just a month. I just found out they have been charging my credit card $167.93 each year for the last 3 years without my permission. The best they will do is give me $100.00 credit when I reactivate my account again. I want the money they stole. And I don't think a service should be able to charge your card without your permission. There should be a law to prevent this. Is there class action suit against them yet?

Sounds like Gus spot messenger has unethical business practices as I like so many other have been repeated charged for a service that I thought was for one year and yet with no notice they continue to charged US dollars for a service no longer required. TOTALLY UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICE, for shame.

I received my recent credit card invoice and saw that I was also charged $ 263.47 by Gus-Spot Messenger company. I did not authorize this charge and currently in the process of fighting this charge. I called the company in California 866-651-7768 and voiced my complaint. I politely asked them to reverse the annual fee but they absolutely refused my request. I did not even pay that amount when I purchased the device at Cabela's in Green Bay, WI last year. I strongly suggest that you do not do business with this company and tell all your hunting friends it is a scam!!!!!! Stay away from them.

I recently found the charge of $159.98 on my credit card for "gus*spot messenger". I had no idea what it was for and researched the internet to find it was for Spot service and all kinds of people had been getting unauthorized charges from them. I have a Spot device but had not even had it on for over two years and I certainly did not sign up for any automatic renewal and especially at that price.. I called my credit card company and disputed the charges.

Have been charged unauthorized on our credit card. Cancelled years ago. Will be asking for full refund!

I had automatic renewal on my SPOT account for several years. This year I informed them, per their policy, more than a month prior to the renewal, that I would not be renewing. They replied with a discount offer to continue, which I would need to reply to in order to accept. I did not reply. Now I see they billed me for the full undiscounted amount!!

Same here. Just got off the phone with credit card co. Thank heavens I had email trail to prove that they lied. Called and did email procedure to not renew, and they did it anyway.

Just sent thru message asking for refund of unauthorized charge for Gus* Spot Messenger on 10/6/12 & 11/6/213. Sorry, I've just been advised that this charge IS authorized, so please ignore my previous communication. Please confirm that you have received & actioned this request.

A payment was charged to my Visa card, I have not knowingly authorised any auto renewal charge for the Spot service. The Spot was used in the past but has not had any activity for nearly 18 months.

Found this charge on my credit card - don't know what it is for. Need clarification.

Also on my credit card statement. Have never subscribed to this service, or even heard of it. It used an expired credit card to attempt to extract monthly payment, so was declined by the bank.
