I called 844-400-0452 around 12:30pm on a friday. A super-nice sounding lady answered and walked me through the process of cancelling. She asked for the phone number of the insured phone, and then our account pin. I wasn't sure if I was dealing with some kind of ID theft scam at first, so I gave her the wrong pin, which she said wasn't working. I then gave her the correct pin and she stated that that worked. She was then able to tell me when my wife's phone had been upgraded and what she was upgraded to. Then during the security check process, she was able to provide both the city of our address and the domain of the email address on file. I then gave her both the full address and email. She asked what the model of the insured phone was, which I provided. She then told me the pro-rated amount that would be automatically refunded to my account, wished me a safe Memorial Day Weekend, and concluded the call. Took less than five minutes. The refund has not hit my account yet, but it has only been a few minutes. If I do not post here again, you may safely assume I got my $1.77 or I am dead...

These fraudsters have been charging my credit card $11.90 for years and they are still trying to do so even after I stopped being a Verizon customer a year ago. Keep an eye on your credit card statements and challenge any similar unauthoried charges/wW5d

Does anyone have any updates on this? I lost an embarrassing amount of money to this company. If it's true these people are third party device insurance, I know I didn't sign up for them. I believe Verizon has always used Asurion.

I have been paying this "insurance" off of my credit card for 3 years. It was purchased and recommend by the Verizon store. I was told it was the best option because all I had to do is bring the phone back to the store and pay a small deductible and the phone would be replace on the spot. Last year I had an issue with my phone took it back to the Verizon store to be informed that I didn't have insurance. I returned with my credit card statement to show proof and they claimed of never hearing of ESH*Techprotect. I called the number associated with the CC account and the number just continuously rang (1 time I put the phone down for over a 1/2 hr, when returning it was still ringing). Looking on Google I found 855-309-8345 after several tries I finally spoke with someone that claimed not to have an account associated with my number. I informed her I proof of charges and emailed it to a provided email. I never heard back from them. Now when I call the number it rings for about 15 minutes and than disconnects. I requested my cc company dispute the charges and fill fraudulent charges. If this doesn't work I'm filling with the State Attorney General.

Called the number 844-400-0452. Spoke with a lovely woman who asked for the associated cell number, phone model and Verizon account pin. She cancelled the policy and told me to look out for the prorated refund. Super easy.

Yea just call the 844-400-0452 number, sweet southern lady. Took about 5 minutes total with some information they need from you to verify, nothing too confidential. They also can email you a dispute form for backpay for when you canceled the phone plan. No guarantee but they will look at it and get back with you

I am also getting this charge and have been for over 2 years. Can't get them to answer their phones, the company has NO Facebbok account, no Twitter account, no website, and apparently no way to get out of their intermitable hold loop! Time to get the FTC on their case!

I have had this $11.60 charge on my credit card for a while and was told it was for Verizon and am no longer a customer of Verizon. If this charge does not disappear from my visa account being charged every month, I will be contacting the Consumer Advocate office in the State House here in Maine when it appears again and will have them look into this bogus charge for a phone that I no longer own. I am no longer a Verizon Customer, yet a $7.48 charge for TechProt was withdrawn without authorization today. Something is fishy here.
