Verizon told me that I needed this 'insurance' when I acquired internet service through them. As soon as the 2 year contract was up, I discontinued the service because of the ridiculous plan and payments. (learned a lesson!) When I canceled the service, after they did everything possible to keep my business, they assured me that the insurance payments would stop automatically coming out of my account. That was in October 2014. $4.99 is taken out of my account like clockwork every month since. I am getting nowhere with Verizon and have reported them and I can't find a contact number for this 'insurance' company. Can anyone help?

Some kind of insurance that is charging me 11.98/ month. I didn't authorize this charge on my card. This has been showing up on my car since October 2014. I need this charge to be stopped immediately. There is no sign of agreement to something like this on my verizon bill or anywhere else.

I have requested that the $10.99 charge to my bank account for ESH*TECH PROTECT be stopped since August 2014 when I traded in my iPhone 4s, and I am still being charged $10.99 every month. I have tried to call several different phone numbers with no luck. I have contacted Verizon monthly to get them to stop the charges, because Verizon made me purchase whatever insurance this is. I have had no luck stopping the recurring charges and I don't know what to do now. PLEASE HELP!

Let me clarify my above post. I did not authorize these charges at all. Verizon used my bank card number to set up the recurring charges when I purchashed my iPhone 4s, and when I contacted Verizon about the charges I was told I had to have the insurance or my phone would be turned off and I would have to pay out the two year contract. I even tried to use the insurance once and was informed that I had no insurance on my iPhone 4s, but I have been paying the monthly insurance premium. I believe this is a scam by Verizon, and now I cannot stop the $10.99 monthly charges by ESH*TECH PROTECT. I have exhausted all measures I know of. Is there anything else I can do to stop this???

In the first half of October my wife upgraded my iPhone 5c to an iPhone 6 with 128 GB of memory. Today she asked me what the $10.99 monthly charge to ESH Tech Protech was. As I had no idea I found this web page. I told her that the charge apparently was for insurance on the iPhone 6 she had purchased. She then recalled that the Verizon Store employee had told her that the 10.99 charge was required by Verizon for 4 months and that if I lost or damaged the phone without the insurance in the first 4 months we would be charged $1000. As the Verizon employee told her we had no choice if we wanted the phone, it was not a fraudulent charge.

I did indeed request insurance when I purchased my iPhone at what I thought was a Verizon store. Now I see a separate charge on my CC bill. I dug a bit and found that the store at which I purchased my iPhone was not an official Verizon store but what I guess is an authorized reseller. I thought they were selling me insurance that would appear on my Verizon bill, but unfortunately it is separate - which is a pain. Verizon tells me that they normally insure phones through a different insurer, that their stores are authorized to allow alternate insurers, and that the cost of insurance through Verizon would be comparable to what I am paying through ESH Tech Protect Prem. I am irritated that this insurance bill is separate. I do not know how reliable this insurer is, nor how one would settle a claim. At least the insurance through Verizon would be evident to Verizon and at their various stores if I had a claim. I'm not sure how I'd prove that I had insurance with ESH Tech Protect Prem

They are a great insurance company separate bill or not I have had to use them once before walked into a Verizon store paid the $100 deductible and got a NEW phone to replace the broken one, no questions asked. The insurance I got from Verizon shows the deductible may be up to $149 and I may get a new or refurbished phone. I’d rather have the TechProtect canceling the Verizon ins.

In my case this is an "unauthorized charge" that was initiated at a "Verizon Wireless Reseller"! These stores look identical to a corporate "Verizon Wireless" retail stores. They automatically bill your credit or debit card that was used at the store. My daughter purchased her new iPhone at one of these locations and has been paying $11.99 per month for the last 5 months. She declined this "mobile insurance" because it was being covered and billed directly on my "Verizon Wireless Bill" which is only $10. It is good insurance, but it is being fraudulently forced on customers. Be aware that even though it covers just about everything, there is a required deductible per claim! This "mobile insurance" is provided by "Asurion" (in my daughters case). However, the "mobile protection" that I am billed for directly on my "Verizon wireless Bill" is better coverage and cost $1.99 less per month. My advice would be to check and see if you are being double covered. If you drop you iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy 5 after you have purchase, it will cost $699 to get a new one (possibly less if they have refurbished one). *******This is a fraudulent charge, but check to see if it is valid coverage and whether or not you want to keep it before canceling it******** Again, this was a result of using a deceptively looking "Verizon Wireless" retail store that was in fact a reseller or franchise!

My cell phone quite working and I am an over the road truck driver. So I stopped at a Verizon store to see about buying a new cell phone. It was in the state of TN. So I bought one and the sales man ask me if I wanted insurance on it and I said yes. At that time I thought it was through Verizon till a charged for $6.99 showed up on my bank statement showing ( ESH*TECHPROTECT PREM ) I did not know who they where so I called my bank and they told me it was a charge from the company for Insurance on my cell phone. So I then called Verizon about this and was told that some of there stores use them to insure these cell phones. So Now I am having trouble with my cell phone and Verizon will not take of it because they say it is not insured my them. How I have to try to get ahold of ESH*TECHPROTECT to get my phone fixed. That is not good because I have to have my cell phone with me at all time, I can not be without it while I am over the road in a semi and need it for work and to call my wife everyday to let he know I am ok and where I am and when I will be home again. What a BIG PAIN IN THE A** this is for me. Does anyone have any advice for what I can do about this mess? If so please let me know. Thanks to the person that did write this company with a phone number for me to call about my phone. Wish me LUCK.

At first I thought this was an unauthorized transaction. However after reading through these posts and realizing what this charge was, I figured out that it IS an authorized transaction. Recently I upgraded my wife's Verizon iPhone and remember the agent asking me if I wanted to purchase insurance for the phone. He then told me that the insurance would be billed as a separate transaction and NOT on my normal Verizon bill as before. I think it is because they have changed insurance companies. I was told that this insurance carrier would ship me a brand new phone, not a refurbished one if I needed to make a claim. So, if you have this charge on your bank statement and recently purchased or upgraded a phone through Verizon, you may want to investigate it that way. The phone number on my bank statement 855-309-8345 is a valid number (I called it to verify) so if you need to speak to someone you can go that route. Hope this helped some people.

Even after getting a new credit card with a different number, this charge continued (not sure how they could even charge a credit card # they were never given). I called my credit card company again and had them put a block on the charges/vendor. I was also given the ph# 855-309-8345, which appears to be this mysterious ESH Techprotect Prem. Very shady since Verizon said they had no authority over what Techprotect Prem does with this insurance, or when it stops.
