This is a valid charge to my card for cell phone insurance. I had a very good rep from Cellular Sales, an authorized Verizon dealer, explain to me exactly what I was getting. I agreed to the Tech Protect insurance vs. Verizon Asurion insurance because I would rather get a new phone than a refurbished one if I needed it. My rep explained that it would be a separate monthly charge on my card. I even had to sign a separate agreement for Tech Protect My phone is older now so I do not feel the need to keep insurance on it. I called Tech Protect on a weeknight at 9pm EST to cancel. The person I spoke with on the phone was pleasant and helped me immediately. I even received a prorated credit on my card for part of the month that was not used. I suggest that people read what they sign before they sign it. Also, if you feel like you have been duped, do not depend on posting to this site to get your money back. Call Tech Protect and explain the issue.

I DID NOT AUTHORIZE THIS CHARGE TO BE TAKEN OUT OF MY PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT OR ANY OF MY ACCOUNTS . I WAS NOT TOLD THIS WOULD HAPPEN . MY BUSINESS PAYS MY CELL PHONE BILL NOT MY PERSONAL. AGAIN, I DID NOT AUTHORIZE ANY AUTOMATED DEBIT AND WAS NOT AT AWARE OF THIS CHARGE. I WANT ALL OF THESE TECHPROTECT TRANSACTIONS REFUNDED!!!! I THINK I WILL CHECK WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP ME!

I have been getting these two for so long, and I thought they were part of my car insurance through Esurance! I get two consecutive charges. One is for $4.99 and the second is for $6.99. I don't understand why this is being charged, when the equipment coverage Asurion is covered under my bill for $8 for each phone. I want my refund!

I have been receiving these unauthorized charges of $11.88 on a monthly basis ever since I bought a new phone at Verizon. I declined the insurance when they offered. This is a fraud. We should do something about it. Let's start a petition to sue these thieves.

I got a charge on my credit card for "ESH Tech Protect Prem" three (3) days after purchasing/upgrading to new I-phones with Verizon. I purposefully declined any and all insurance offerings from the Verizon sales rep. Verizon will not only hear about this, but I may cancel the service entirley. The charge will be removed from credit card

This is a legitmate charge. Verizon uses this company when you sign up for tech protection on your phone. So you get a verizon bill, and this is charged seprately, typicallly through direct debit/ACH. The only catch is you have to cancel this manually. If you get rid of the phone or switch carriers, you will continue to get charged the protection fee on the old phone until you call and cancel.

I have it, I've used it. Got a replacement phone Galaxy S5 at the Verizon store after paying the deductible of $199.00. Much less expensive than a new phone. $699.00- $199.00-leaves you enough money for a little over 44 months of coverage before you hit the break even point. IMO, worth it considering you get your new phone immediately. However, to each his own :)

I've found them sneaking into my Discover account. They have charged my for over a year of more than $250. The claim to be some insurance thing, but perhaps an invisible insurance company with no website or emails about benefits or charge changes that takes money from your accounts unauthorized ... I filed a report on them. Hopefully, I get my money back...

This company hacks into Verizon's data base...it is a scam. We've had two charges...one the day after we renewed our contract with Verizon (we've never had insurance on our phones) and another, larger charge a few days later. When we called Verizon at 611, neither the CSR or a manager was able to tell us what these charges were. Will be calling the local Verizon store, going to our bank and filing a fraud report with the local police department and possibly FTC.

It's actually not a scam. It's the extra cell phone protection that you pay for in the event you lose or break your phone. Verizon's plan will get you a reconditioned phone in three days with a deductible to be paid. This plan gives you a brand new phone with no deduct able. Simple

This is a scam..........I called my bank today and had my card cancelled, and a case open to investigation for fraud. My bank will refund the money This is a 3rd party insurance scam through Verizon cellular sales. I personally have 3 devices through them and have insurance on all 3 ( through Verizon directly ) this 3rd party cellular sales which is where most buy there devices sneeks in this extra charge that they do not offer nor get permission for, so i suggest you call your bank, credit card carrier, etc....and file a claim against this. I just found out they have been taking $10.99 fron me since Nov 2013. Luckily my bank was able to refunder under fraud.

This company is a complete rip off! Verizon stated I had to have insurance through esh protect, I canceled my phone service with Verizon and they still kept charging my credit card. Called the phone# listed 855-309-8345 on my credit card statement to cancel on more than one occasion and they still charged me and had the nerve to tell me they could not credit me for a full refund because I didn't cancel in time! They are taking peoples money even when you no longer have the same cell phone company. The customer service reps are rude when you ask to speak to a manager, they tell you there's nothing they can do for you. THIS COMPANY NEEDS TO BE REPORTED TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU!!!!!!!!!!

Though I don't like the way they went about it, this is legit. My husband got a new cell phone, had to get insurance on it the first month, ASSUMED it would show up in our Verizon bill, which I have paid on line in the past, so they have my checking account info, and so they directly debited it from my checking account, without my permission. However, when I call to cancel the insurance, only the Account Holder (my husband, who is working in 12 degrees and a foot of snow today) is the only one authorized to cancel the charge. Effers.

I never signed up for any insurance. I have owned my phone for about 6 months and all of a sudden a charge for $11.73 showed up on my account on 1/8/15. This needs to be refunded to my debit card immediately. This insurance company needs to be put under investigation and shut down seeing as everyone seems to be complaining because they haven't signed up for any insurance yet we are still being charged. FIX THIS!

After finding charges of $11.65/mo on my credit card for 5 MONTHS I called my service provider, Verizon. Verizon had no record... gave me a number 877-775-3274 (tech support service) who didn't have record either... I then called the Verizon store (Inside the Melbourne Square Mall, Melbourne, FL) which is the store I went to when I got my new phone (5 months ago)... The girl that answered said that the store was under new ownership/management and entire new staff.. She said she would ask her Manager... I asked to speak to the manager then was put on hold for almost 15 minutes before I hung up.... or was I hung up on? Moral of the story... I want this serviced canceled IMMEDIATELY!! Please, and thank you
