am a senior citizen who relies solely on his Social Security benefits to live on. I was having trouble with my laptop, which was luckily still under warranty, so I contacted ASUS, who then referred me to Geek Squad located in the Best Buy in Riverhead, NY which was where I had purchased the device. As I live on only about $900.00/Mo. I was grateful for the warranty service. I usually check my balance regularly, and on Nov. 10th, 2021 I checked it knowing I should have roughly $220.00 or so remaining. I was astonished to hear my balance wan only about $58.00! I went online to discover that a numerous list of charges were posted to my account for a service I had never even heard of....Google Activision, and Google WISDOM GAME, both centered in Mountain View, California. The charges began at $4.99 for Google Activision, billed 3 times on Nov 5th between 10:30 to 10:31 AM. Then 5 charges for $4.88 on Nov.6 between 12:40 to 12:41 PM. Then on Nov. 8th $9.99 was charged 3 times, all within the same minute of 12:14 AM. Nov. 9th revealed 4 additional charges, 2 for $4.99, and 2 for $9.99, all within the period of 1:31 to 1:32 AM. Nov. 10th was the day I discovered these erroneous charges, but regrettably not until 4 additional charges were made, 2 for $4.99, and 2 for $9.99, all between 2:14 and 2:15 AM, all 4 attributed to Google Activision, Mountain View California. The possible source I can think of which would allow access to my personal information, would be that some individual from "Geek Squad" downloaded my information from my hard drive in my device that was being serviced. Has anyone else who has experience similar fraudulent charges from Google Activision, or Google WISDOM GAME, had one of their devices serviced by another computer repair service, or Geek Squad in particular?
