I buy books all the time and have the bad habit of just eying my credit card statement. But today I had two charges for 9.95 each on my card, during a time I was out of the country. Come to find out, this company has been charging me $19 a month for TWO memberships THEY signed me up for, since August of 2010, without my knowledge or consent. I know ultimately it was my responsibility to notice sooner. But: I am a senior citizen and I have, as many, issues in my life that contributed to MY carelessness. But this merchant is a ruthless, scam artist. I have looked on line, and there are over 3.200 complaints from people that have also been charged monthly! It may have been the small print, I don't know. But in 2013 USA this should not exist!! I am absolutely aghast!!

I had two charges for 9.95 each on my credit card during the month of March and I was out of the country, and did not buy books. Because I am an avid reader and e-bay sells through assorted vendors, I never really noticed before. I called my credit card company and they made a three way call. I found that I have been charged, without my approval, $9.95 2x per month since Aug. 2010. They claim that I chose to be "member" to get a lower price on a book (which cost under $4.99 ) and that by not canceling the free membership after 7 days, I was aromatically signed up for this membership. I did not keep my original receipt for the book that I purchased but I am sure that I would NOT sign up for ANY membership, not even TRIAL. They have agreed to refund $80. of $600. This is a lesson to me to review credit card bills very carefully This is a disreputable company. DON'T ever buy books from them..

One initial discount offer leads to years of hidden monthly fees, without any reminder or renewal notice. Although this might be technically borderline legal, it's an intentional scam

I've been getting charge $9.95 a month and I haven't purchase anything this is happening since 2011.
I want for this to stop and get refunded.

I did not understand a charge on my account, I decide to go back and review my credit receipts. I found that I have been charge, without my approval, $9.95 per month since Aug. 2010. I went back and reviewed my original receipt for the books that I purchased and there was nothing about membership. They have agreed to refund $19.95. of $288.55. This is a lesson to me to review credit card bills very carefully This is a disreputable company. DON'T ever buy books from them..

you can try and contact the merchant at 866-707-5858. If the merchant is not willing to issue you a refund then we recommend you contact your issuing bank and dispute this charge.

Customer contacted DiscountBookSale.com support directly on 9/17 with cancellation and refund request, membership was cancelled, customer was partially refunded.
